Chad Hurley was born in January nineteen seventy seven in Reading, Pennsylvania and is an American entrepreneur. Chad is known for gaining national renown as the co-founder and CEO of YouTube in two thousand and five. Along with fellow creators Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, the team established a wonderful way for people to share and live stream videos. In the world of social media, the introduction of YouTube revolutionized the way individuals engage with each other.
Youtube was acquired by Google for 1.65 billion dollars a year later in two thousand and six. Hurley stepped down as CEO of YouTube in October two thousand and ten but would stay on as an adviser.
After leaving YouTube, Chad co-founded MixBit, a platform through which people could edit videos on their phones, much like other platforms Vine and Instagram.
Prior to YouTube, Hurley worked at eBay in their paypal division where he was involved in various projects including designing the original paypal logo.
With a successful and influential career behind him, he has also been a part-owner of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and MLS’s Los Angeles Football Club, as well as an investor in England’s Leeds United Football Club. Chad can now be booked as a speaker for different corporate events.
